Brad Wright

Brad Wright is considered a vintage of the swing scene having danced his way around Melbourne now for eight years. Well known for his humble attitude, dry sense of humour combined with crazy aerials and great passion, many are surprised to find he was actually a reluctant and naive starter to Swing - initially he just went along "under protest" with his housemate to keep her company, not knowing what he was in for!

However, after a month of dancing his attention soon swung into swing and after his first Swing Rave in December 1999 (that was during the last century for those Gen Y's too young to remember) he became addicted - blown away by the energy, excitement and fun of swing.

In his own words: "the first time I saw the Boogie Stompers do a flip, I knew this was a place I wanted to be!" A valued (and need we mention long-standing) member of Scat Pack, outside of Swing Patrol, Brad is a trained ski instructor who can often been seen traversing the slopes of Canada or here in Melbourne at Falls and Hotham when it is a good year.

Brad has also had a travel addiction from a young age and travelled through India, Africa, NZ and Europe. Among other sports, he has scuba dived throughout Australia, Philippines, NZ and the Solomon Islands. He has also been heavily into tennis and mixed netball, as well as being a keen windsurfer and surfer.

As an original and dedicated member of Scat Pack, Brad has performed at numerous major events around Melbourne. It took on a new momentum for Brad in December 2000 where he performed at his first swing Rave in all of the tough intermediate routines such as Ace of Swing, Caledonia and of course...good ol' Nosey Joe! Since then he has grown from strength to strength and can often be seen throwing various Swing Patrol girls around in some incredible aerials! Brad is a great asset to the Swing Patrol team!
